I had a dream where she was brought along with another friend with whom I had also lost trust. I clearly showed my disapproval of their arrival, but I ended up having a short conversation with them anyway. It was almost like we still talked, but I expressed how much what they did hurt me, admitting that I still think of them even though it has been two years now. I am trying to move on, but I still think about her. [1]
After that, the "meeting" ended and she got picked up by a car. I assume this indicated her father—the man I would have met had she been more honest, as part of that relationship’s downfall was that she never wanted me to meet her parents. I watched the car drive off my driveway and slowly disappear away from my neighborhood. I felt contempt after that.
The Reality of the Past
I feel frustrated about how things ended up, how it affected me later on, how she chose to be with someone who bullied one of our close friends, and how smug that guy is. I really imagined a future for us that was just built on infatuation. First love is a bittersweet feeling, but I should have seen the signs that she was not the right person.
I’ve erased every trace of her from my phone, and all the gifts she handed me have been thrown away. After doing that, I felt nothing but sadness and found myself missing all the nice memories of those times and moments.
The Shift Toward Growth
Later on in that dream, I ended up walking in a familiar area—a path, so to speak. The grass was mowed down all around me as I strolled through the concrete walkway pondering, passing by people of all ages. Finally, after 12 laps, my first thought was about cooking food because my sister was hungry, so I made ramen.
After that, the scene shifted to a mall. It was a familiar place that looked like the same one where I went to see that ex after a two-month "distance or break." We met there again and walked around. It was a strange feeling of trying to go back to normal before all the drama.
Back to that shift: I walked around near the center of the mall where there was a college, probably indicating my desire for academia and meeting another woman. She was beautiful, enthusiastic, and showed the same optimism I used to have with my ex. It was almost like a reflection of me. Then I woke up.
Where I Am Now
