I had walked what I thought was just a historic building, but it was a church. I realized when I got in there, even though it was a historic building inside was a little bit modern looking because everything was painted white and so clean. The ceilings were so incredibly tall in the detail in the architecture was stunning. There was one very large statue that I wasn’t sure how to interpret. It was a person, but the top half of the person was covered in like a black cape, type thing, including their entire face and head. I believe there was a place where there was room for a mouth that wasn’t covered in the black cape and it was a little bit scary looking. I think “it’s” hands were shackled or tied as well. Then I walked into the next room, which was still all white, and when I looked up, I noticed that there were bird cages hanging from the ceiling. There was tons of them, and each one had a bird in it different kinds of birds, but most of them I believe were budgies. The doors to the cages were wide-open on every cage, and I remember being confused as to why the birds didn’t fly out of the door, and right, when I thought that one of the budgies did fly out of their cage and followed me out of the building I was running because I wanted the bird to follow me and be free but I think I also wanted the bird as a pet. The budgie followed me out of the building and was flying around and I remember feeling a little worried that it would fly way never come back but it did not. It stayed with me and it made me feel so happy that the bird chose to stay with me, after this, I don’t remember exactly what happened, but I ended up trying to kind of rally some horses that were running down the street they were my horses, and they had somehow gotten out of their enclosure, and my dog, frisco, was running with them and I was calling his name to stop because they were running towards the highway but I lost them. They were too fast, and Frisco ended up getting run over by car. I woke up as the lady who had hit him was handing him to me. I’m not sure if he was dead or alive.
This dream holds elements of both wonder and distress. The historic church that transforms into a modern-looking space indicates a mix between tradition and progression. The clean and white interior represents purity and a fresh start. The tall ceilings and stunning architecture symbolize the grandeur and beauty of spirituality.
The large statue covered in a black cape with a scary face could represent fear or hidden aspects within yourself or a situation. The tied or shackled hands may suggest feeling restrained or confined in some way.
The next room with bird cages hanging from the ceiling represents a sense of confinement or restrictions. The fact that the doors of the cages are wide-open could signify an opportunity for freedom and liberation. However, your confusion about why the birds didn't fly out suggests a hesitation or uncertainty about embracing this freedom fully. The budgie that follows you out represents a desire for companionship or connection, both as a pet and as a symbol of freedom.
The shift in the dream to trying to rally your horses and prevent them from running towards the highway reveals a loss of control and the fear of losing something precious. Your dog, Frisco, being run over by a car adds a sense of sorrow and vulnerability. This part of the dream may symbolize feeling overwhelmed and unable to protect or keep everything together.
Overall, this dream may suggest a longing for freedom and connection while also grappling with fear, loss, and the challenges of maintaining control and stability in your life. It may be valuable to explore these themes further and consider any areas in your waking life where you may be seeking liberation or struggling with loss and control.
