In the dream there was a huge murderous gorilla on the loose. First I was watching from this big inclosure it had, but it escaped and me along with all the other people fled since it was now on a huge rampage and would kill anyone it met. We ran to this city and into a huge hotel like building. We ran all the way to the top where there was a small room for us with a balcony looking over the city where I could see the empty city streets since everyone had fled inside. From the balcony I was trying to watch out for the gorilla, figuring out where it was and when it was coming. At some point I saw it arrive into the city but from there it was gone. I was with another person, the person changed throughout the dream. At some point it was my childhood best friend, and at some point it was my current colleague. I was really scared, because our only hope was that gorilla would get tired before it got all the way to the top of the building where we were. Most of them dream went on like this, I was scared and trying to figure out where it was. At some point a shapeshifting bird flew outside the balcony, it looked innocent but I somehow new it was listing in on us and would tell on us, and I tried to get my best friend to be quite so she wouldn’t reveal anything. In the last moments of the dream my colleague was cooking us food and I was in a desperate hurry because I knew we couldn’t waste time on that since the gorilla was now even closer, but she wanted us to eat to have energy. In the final moments the gorilla was close, so close that I could hear it through one of the doors. I ran to the other door to escape, only to realize it was a closet and I was stuck in the room where the gorilla would soon come to kill us. The I woke up
Dreams featuring animals, especially powerful and potentially dangerous ones like a gorilla, often symbolize intense feelings, instincts, or challenges we might be facing in our waking life. The gorilla in your dream could represent a significant source of stress, anxiety, or a situation that feels out of control.
The Gorilla: This creature likely symbolizes something you perceive as a threat or a challenge in your life. It could represent a fear you have, whether it's related to personal issues, work stress, or relationships. The gorilla's murderous nature suggests that this fear is not just a minor annoyance, but something significant that can cause you emotional harm.
Fleeing and Hiding: Your instinct to flee to a hotel and seek safety reflects your desire to escape from what you're currently dealing with. It hints at feelings of vulnerability and a need for protection. The hotel, as a transitional space, may symbolize a temporary refuge from your troubles.
Changing Companions: The presence of different people (your childhood friend and current colleague) might represent different aspects of yourself or your support systems. Your childhood friend could symbolize nostalgia and a sense of security, while your colleague might represent your current responsibilities or adult life. This shifting companionship may indicate your struggle to find stability amidst chaos.
Balcony and Watching: Being on a balcony suggests a desire to gain perspective, to see the bigger picture in a situation you find overwhelming. Your vigilance in watching for the gorilla signifies your awareness of ongoing dangers or challenges, but also possibly a feeling of being watched or judged.
The Shapeshifting Bird: This might symbolize deception or fear of betrayal. You may be wary of people in your life who could expose your vulnerabilities or secrets. The need to keep silent around the bird illustrates your anxiety about sharing your fears or being open about your struggles.
Cooking vs. Escape: The conflict between needing to eat (for sustenance and energy) and the urgency to escape could reflect a broader theme in your life regarding prioritizing self-care versus dealing with immediate pressures. It illustrates a struggle between taking care of yourself and confronting your fears.
The Closet: Being trapped in a closet signifies feeling cornered or helpless. This could represent a fear of facing your problems directly, or it could symbolize feelings of confinement in your current situation.
Overall, this dream seems to convey a deep sense of anxiety and fear regarding an overpowering situation or emotion in your life. It may be helpful to reflect on what specific challenges you are currently facing and how you can address them, perhaps by finding support from trusted friends or colleagues. Consider also finding a balance between self-care and confrontation, allowing yourself time to recharge while also addressing the threats you feel you are facing.
